Bus Aide – Content Support
 
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing supervision and care for children ages birth to 5 years old during school bus transportation to and from the Head Start and Early Head Start centers. The Bus Aide must be able to provide direct assistance to the children when boarding and departing the bus and work cooperatively while maintaining effective communication with parents and staff involved in coordinating student transportation services.
 
This is a permanent, part-time position, approx. 20-25 hours per week with the opportunity for additional hours substituting in classrooms, kitchens and front desks between bus runs. Starting at $11.75 per hour with a guaranteed increase to $12.50 per hour January 1st. This position offers Monday-Friday day shift schedule, 14 paid holidays, 12 vacation days, and 18 sick days per year. An immediate opening for this position is available at the Dennett Road Early Learning Center/Overlook Child Development Center, but applications can also be used for vacancies throughout Garrett County within the next six months.
 
Minimum Qualifications: HS Diploma or GED, must be 19 years old and be physically able to assist children on and off the bus which may include carrying infants and toddlers.

Service Coordination Content Specialist II
 
Garrett County Community Action, Service Coordination Department is seeking a Content Specialist II to be responsible for managing and monitoring the accuracy and completeness of electronic client files for all department programs. Program matter includes the energy assistance program and homeless programs. Responsibilities include coordinating customer access to available programs and resources by accessing family needs, coordinating client access to assigned programs, assist individuals gain information and access to health exchange information, provide case management coordination, serve on family centered teams, be familiar with the range of service programs available within the county. Must have ability to work with limited supervision. Experience working with the general public in a fast paced atmosphere preferred.
 
Qualifications/requirements
AA degree in related field or High School diploma with three years related experience in field. Demonstrated proficient computer skills including document management, client tracking, etc. Criminal background check is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for outreach.
 
Position is full time and offers Monday-Friday day shift schedule, travel reimbursement, full Community Action benefits including health insurance, a pension plan, a flex spending account (FSA), 14 paid holidays, 12 vacation days, and 18 sick days per year.

Content Support - Mary Browning Senior Center Kitchen
 
Garrett County Community Action Committee, Inc. / Aging and Nutrition services is seeking a Content Support person for the Mary Browning Senior Center kitchen. Duties of this position include food preparation, service and packaging of on-site and home-delivered (MOW) meals. Assist in maintaining clean & sanitary kitchen. HS diploma or GED required. Experience in food service a plus.

This position is a 24 hours /week position, Monday, Tuesday & Friday. 7am – 2pm. Starting at $11.75 per hour increasing to $12.50 per hour on January 1, 2022. This is considered a Regular Part-Time position and benefits will be paid on a prorated basis. Holidays will be paid if the employee would normally be scheduled to work that day. Part-Time, Full-Time and Substitute Commercial Drivers
 
Garrett Transit Service, a department of Garrett County Community Action Committee, Inc. is accepting applications for Full-time, Part-time, and Substitute Commercial Drivers. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a commercial driver license (CDL), Class C or higher with Passenger and School Bus endorsement. Must have at least five years driving experience, have an excellent driving record, and be able to pass a DOT physical examination. Garrett Transit Service is willing to help the right applicant obtain the CDL required for this position with a sign-on agreement. The applicants must be willing to complete Basic First Aid and CPR training.
 
This is a safety-sensitive position, therefore successful applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and be subject to random drug testing while employed. Also a copy of a current driving record will be required. The successful applicants must also pass a criminal background check.
 
Full-time employees receive full benefits such as 12 Annual leave days, 18 Sick leave days, 7 paid Holidays, and 7 Floating Holidays. Part-time employees receive these benefits on a pro-rated basis. Full-time employees also have the option for Health, Vision and Dental Insurance along with a Flexible Spending Account Plan. State Pension for eligible employees.

Substitute Receptionist (Admin Support)

Garrett County Community Action Committee, Inc., is accepting applications for Substitute Admin Support Receptionist. This position is responsible for answering all incoming calls to the agency and connecting the caller to the correct department. Documents and scans all press information regarding the agency as well as scanning other agency documents as needed for electronic document management. Assists other departments as needed with typing. Helps visitors to the agency get to the correct area. Collect rent payments for Property Management Department.
 
Position Requirements: Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with a wide variety of people, and knowledge of programs. Education and Experience: Must be comfortable with computers, databases, Excel and Word. Starting amount is $11.75 per hour.
