Judy Center Partnership Manager – Content/Operations Manager
 
Garrett County Community Action is recruiting for the position of the Garrett County Judy Center Partnership Manager. The Judy Center is a state funded program whose staff help prepare children age birth through kindergarten for school readiness. Key components of the position include:
• Strong collaboration and communication with the Garrett County Public Schools Judy Center education staff, Director of Elementary/Early Childhood Education and finance staff
• Supervision of a training coordinator, administrative assistant and two Family Service Coordinators
• Grant writing, budget creation and management of all aspects of the grant including compliance with the twelve Judy Center components
• Partnering with local, licensed child care programs to support quality improvement and MD EXCELS quality attainment
• Maintain current and develop new partnerships with community service providers to support the needs of young children and their families
• Work closely with Head Start and Early Head Start staff to provide enrichment supplies and experiences to enrolled children and families
• Facilitate monthly Steering Committee Meetings along with quarterly participation in the development and delivery of the Garrett County Early Childhood Advisory Council
• Participate in, at minimum, monthly state Judy Center Meetings and the annual Judy Center Conference to occur either virtually or within the state of Maryland
 
Minimum Qualifications: A degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Human Services or Social Work.

Senior Health & Fitness Specialist

Garrett County CAC/Aging and Nutrition is seeking a dynamic person for the position of Senior Health & Fitness Specialist (Content Specialist II). This is an ideal part time position for someone who values lifelong health and fitness. Duties include planning, monitoring, and teaching health/fitness classes, assisting seniors using fitness equipment, development of health & fitness programs for seniors, and membership data collection/reporting of activities and participation. Knowledge of senior fitness activities, experience with older adults and basic computer skills are required.
 
This is a permanent part-time position 25 hours per week at $13.49/hr. Hours are 8:30 – 1:30 Monday through Friday located in McHenry.

Supports Planner/Case Manager
 
Garrett County’s Community Action Committee, Inc. Aging and Nutrition division is seeking a Supports Planner/Case Manager for In-Home Care services. Duties of this position include working directly with elderly clients and partner agencies to set up, support and monitor services identified as needed to help the participant remain in the community in a person-centered setting. Direct facilitation with professional and State agencies is required as well as data collection and reporting.
 
This Coordinator 1 position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a human service field including Psychology, Gerontology, Social Work, Sociology, Nursing, Counseling or related field. Position requires technical skills in data management and reporting, computers and writing. This is a full time position 40 hours /week with full agency benefits. Starting salary is $31,895

Family Service Coordinator II
 
Garrett County Community Action Committee, Inc. is accepting applications for the following position of Family Service Coordinator II within the Division of Child and Family Development
 
This position is responsible for working directly with the families of children enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Oakland, MD. The successful applicant must be able to broadly assess family needs and coordinate access to assigned programs. He or she will coach families to create realistic goal plans, help achieve and track progress towards goals and make adjustments as needed; input a wide range of family data in the agencies client database; be responsible for understanding the range of services and programs available within the agency/throughout the community and ensure clients are receiving eligible services to help them succeed; and work with classroom and school staff to understand the holistic needs of children and families enrolled in the program. This person may also provide case management coordination with a team of specialists for children and families in crisis.
 
Requires knowledge of local resources; enjoyment talking with others and learning about their circumstances; commitment to appropriately supporting families/individuals as they seek to improve their lives. Must have a willingness to reach out and engage others as well as the ability to create realistic plans with families and identify concrete, specific action steps for families to take; ability to build rapport with people within a wide range of diversity.
Minimum Qualifications include: Must have a high school diploma or equivalency, with an AA degree preferred, in a field related to Social Work or Human Development.

This position is responsible for working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old in the classroom setting, preparing and serving family style meals to children and staff, safe transportation of children in an aide role to the bus driver and/or performing clerical duties. Substitutes are needed in all locations of Garrett County with a pay rate of $11.75 per hour.
 
Minimum Qualifications include: HS Diploma or GED and must be 19 years old.

Substitute Receptionist (Admin Support)

Garrett County Community Action Committee, Inc., is accepting applications for Substitute Admin Support Receptionist. This position is responsible for answering all incoming calls to the agency and connecting the caller to the correct department. Documents and scans all press information regarding the agency as well as scanning other agency documents as needed for electronic document management. Assists other departments as needed with typing. Helps visitors to the agency get to the correct area. Collect rent payments for Property Management Department.
 
Position Requirements: Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with a wide variety of people, and knowledge of programs. Education and Experience: Must be comfortable with computers, databases, Excel and Word. Starting amount is $11.00 per hour.
